Beeston Youth and Community Centre is a registered charity regulated by a Scheme (governing document) of the Charity Commission.

The land was included in a will for use by the local youth and community and was conveyed to the original trustees by a conveyance and trust deed from 1st November 1949. Originally ex-Army sheds were used to house community groups and for young people to meet, hence The Shed name for the Young People’s Centre. The current building was built in the 1960s, opening in 1965.

Nottinghamshire County Council took over as trustees from Broxtowe Borough Council who in turn took over from Beeston and Stapleford Urban District Council. Nottinghamshire County Council as trustees ensure Health & Safety and accounting compliance is met.
